FarmVille Pic of the Day: Catch a tan at Supertech67's beachside resort

FarmVille to hit the beach. One of the coolest things about Supertech67's beach resort farm is the illusion of a seaport and boardwalk at the bottom of the farm, including what looks like four Limited Edition Mayflower ships in the water (from the 2010 Thanksgiving Basket) to help round out the effect.

The hotel in the center of the farm is also worth a nod. It seems to soar over all the other items, even though, like the boardwalk, it's in 2D. An older version of the resort had the hotel stretched across two buildings by way of a sky bridge with a parked hot air balloon! You can toggle between pics of the old beach and the new beach for a compare and contrast.

Usually, players stick to using the default green field background or the winter snow background for their farm designs. So we'd like to give props to supertech67 for changing things up and giving us a tan.

FarmVille Pic of the Day: Visit the Boot of Europe on ombra231's Italia

FarmVille friends! As you may have guessed, that's "Welcome" in Italian, because today's farm of the day takes us right to the Lo Stivale, or "The Boot" (of Europe), which is what the Italian peninsula is known to resemble.

Crafted by ombra231, who not only managed to create the peninsula out of many, many trees, he also included the surrounding islands -- namely, Sicily, Sardinia, and Corsica. Sicily is the piece that looks like it's about to be kicked by the toe of Italy's boot. Sardinia is the one northwest of Sicily, and the one north of Sardinia is Corsica, which is actually owned by the French. Corsica is best known as Napoléon's birthplace.

Like Supertech67's farm from yesterday, ombra231 also used Limited Edition Mayflower ships (from the 2010 Thanksgiving Basket) to add realism to hundreds of tiny, blue hay bales representing the following three seas: Tyrrhenian (on the west), Ionian (on the south), and Adriatic (on the east). In the landlocked northern part of the peninsula, ombra231 used several of last summer's Swiss Alps (which cost 42 Farm Cash each) to recreate the Apennine Mountain Range.

Lastly, if you look closely at the flag in the water, you can see the number "150" above it. To understand that we have to dig into Italy's history, namely, that Italy didn't exist as a singular country until it was united by Giuseppe Garibaldi in 1861. That number represents the 150 years that Italy's remained a unified country, of which 2011 was its 150th year. Talk about detail. Ombra231 sure has us impressed.

FarmVille Live Chat Support for Paid Players

FarmVille’s Live Chat Support has been difficult if not impossible to access (as if it weren’t already hard enough).

There were rumors circulating on some other FarmVille websites that you had to spend at least $100 per month to get live chat. Those rumors are false. However, Zynga has made a statement via the Official FarmVille Forum addressing FarmVille Live Support. In this statement they confirm that you do have to be a paid player, although you do not need to spend $100 per month.
Read more below:

“Hey guys,Thought I’d chime in since live chat support has been a hot topic for the last couple days. In order to get live chat, you do need to be a paid player. You don’t need to spend a $100 per month to get live chat though–that is just a rumor. You are entitled to live chat support if you are paid player, but please keep in mind that this CS feature may not be available due to high volume.

FarmVille won't technically update until tomorrow evening,

FarmVille Sneak Peek: Beagle, Pug, Maltese and more coming soon

we're now able to take a pretty good stab at guessing what will be included inside. Here's a clue: they're furry, have four legs and are often called "man's best friend." Of course we're talking about dogs, and it looks like a set of seven will be coming to the Mystery Game for your "winning" pleasure.

As for the actual selection of dogs, we see a Maltese, Chihuahua, Beagle, Shih Tzu, Boston Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier and a Pug. Unfortunately, we're not exactly sure which of these seven dogs will be the "bonus prize" for winning all six within the week that the game is available, but we can say that any of them would be stand-out prizes for your Pet Run Habitat on your farm. That's right - we believe many, if not all, of these dogs will be masterable as well.

Personally? I'm going for the Pug if it's not the ultimate, seventh prize, but what about you? Which of these dogs is your favorite?

If these are the seven animals released in the Mystery Game tomorrow, will you play? How much Farm Cash do you expect a single dart to cost? How much would you be willing to pay for all six ultimately? Sound off in the comments.

FarmVille:Book of XP will let you level up instantly

FarmVille for Farm Cash, but apparently that isn't enough. It looks like Zynga will be releasing a Book of XP to the game sometime in the near future, that will let you skip the hassle of buying multiple XP bundles and level up in a single purchase.

While pricing still isn't known for these Books of XP, we do see the following pop-up, that looks like it might appear right underneath your XP meter at the top of the screen. It's likely this large 999 number will be the calculation of how many points you personally need to level up in your own game, giving you the chance to purchase a Book of XP right from the menu, if you so choose.

The picture at right is also the right size for one to be featured on the Specials page of the FarmVille marketplace, so we'll likely be able to purchase Books of XP in bulk there as well. If you're wondering why someone would purchase XP and levels rather than simply play the game, well... the only logical explanation I can come up with are those lower-level players that might want to skip the leveling up process to unlock new crops and items that might otherwise be unavailable to them currently. If there's another reason this is necessary, it's lost on me.

Free French Bulldog with Farm Cash purchase for a limited time

FarmVille to any user willing to purchase a Farm Cash bundle over the next 5-6 hours. In this limited-time promotion, we're being offered a French Bulldog with any Farm Cash purchase, even those as little as $1.

That's right - the French Bulldog. Sound familiar? This animal is actually one of those available to win in the new Pets Mystery Box that was released this week in the store for 20 Farm Cash. If, however, you don't want to take the chance of not receiving the dog that way (or taking a chance that you might end up with duplicates of the other animals), why not take a look at this $1 package? For that price, you'll receive 4 Farm Cash and the free French Bulldog. I don't know about you, but these $1 Farm Cash animals are pretty good deals, and I've made quite a dent in my missing animal collection due to them over the past week or so.

This does bring another question to mind though: If we've seen the French Bulldog and the Hedgehog (among others) being given away through such promotions, and both animals are from the Pets Mystery Box, does this mean the other animals will receive Farm Cash promotions as well? It certainly seems like that will be the case, and we'll make sure to let you know if it is.

Have you been taking part in these free animal promotions in FarmVille? Which animals have you purchased so far? Sound off in the comments.
